Green Episode 1 Stills
Green Synopsis
Green is a series that deals with environmental, conservation and recycling issues. It features the Kelly family and a visitor from another planet with down to Earth advice on all "green" stuff. X11, or "Green" as he is more commonly known, helps give simple straightforward advice to the Kelly's in a neverending challenge to make their world a better place to live...or at least a world a little less trash-strewn.
Most of Green's advice will be of the "turn off the lights when you leave a room!" variety, something that the youngest child (or laziest teen) can handle. The Kellys are receptive to his help and do their best to conserve, though like every worthwhile challenge there are bumps in the road, mainly Forrest Kelly, the family's tweenage son. In the end Green helps them learn about the hows, wheres, whats and whys of going greenwith a minimum of drama.

Green Characters
Green is a visitor from another planet that is more than happy to give his input on going green. A bit of a know-it-all, Green loves to give a step-by-step break down of the recycling process whenever he gets a chance, complete with charts and graphs. He likes to think he came to help achieve a greater future, and that he hopes he can play some small part in it. He is vague on the actual location of his home, could be he is lost.
Green's advice falls into the common sense rather than the rocket science category; throw cans in the right barrel, don't drive 2 blocks to the store for milk when you can walk, wear a sweater if its a little chilly in the house. Green gets a little bent out of shape and has been known to fly off the handle. On a good day he is like Mr Rogers on a bad day like Joey Pesci.
Green can get a little exasperated but manages to pull himself together everytime. His heart is in the right place, although you may have trouble finding his spleen.
Forrest Kelly is the Kelly's tweenage son. He's a tad moody and feels put upon when asked to carry out his chores, he must have been a martyr in another life. He gets the whole recycling thing but, "C'MON! EVERY TIME!?" What's the big deal if once or twice (OK closer to 16 times) he doesn't put an empty soda can in the recycling? The world won't stop spinning will it? And if it does it will be years from now when he is gone, so why worry about other people's problems. He eventually does his share of green work...but what really gets him is Green's lectures. After a hard day of pretending to pay attention in history class, does he really have to pretend to listen to a recycling lecture too.Forrest is a groomer. He spends more time on his hair than he does on his homework. To his credit, he does use a eco-friendly gel in his hair.
Olive Kelly is the teenage daughter in the house. She is a real go-getter when its comes to green issues. If the energy she used in attacking green problems could be harnessed it could power her home town for a year...or power the next concert by "Fossil Foolz", her favorite hard rock band. Word of caution...stay out of her way when she is in recycling mode...she can be a dynamo! She has been known to try and recycle her father's newspaper while he's still reading it. She is always open to learn about things like carbon foorprints, energy vampires and eco-friendly lawn mowers. Her favorite lunch is dolphin safe tuna on unbleached whole wheat bread, with tofu-naise.Olive is quite an athlete too. She is the star of the softball, field hockey and soccer teams.
Herb Kelly is the dad of the family. He fancies himself quite the handyman. Some of his projects go astray but his heart is in the right place. He has a "jones" to build stuff that helps greening the house. His solar powered windmill wasn't really thought out properly, nor his hydropowered bar-b-q pit (for obvious reasons), but he keeps on trying. He tries to get Forrest to help him with these projects...with lukewarm success. Olive on the other hand is more than willing to tote that barge and lift that bail.He likes junk food, so make sure you stock up on the pork rinds if you invite him over.

Emmie Kelly is the mom of the family. She is a bit of a fitness nut, managing to keep her girlish figure after 2 kids and a husband that likes Sloppy Joes. She is the mom in the hood that volunteers for just about everything; PTA bake sale, Cub Scout den mother, school field trip chaperone, fund raising carwash, self defense lessons instructor, playground nurse...you get the picture. She supports her kids in all their endeavors and most of Herb's do-it-yourself projects...but she has her limits. She works out of the house making decorative pot holders and sells them via the internet.
